As an experienced celebrant, you can trust your ceremony to be crafted with care and depth of meaning. Drawing on a background as an artist, musician and event organiser, I make sure every moment lands for all the right reasons.
I'm happy to help any couple find their own way to tie the knot, but my real interest isn't being a fashion accessory to someone's big day — it's helping couples forge bonds that will hold whatever storms life throws at a marriage.
I imbue events with a spontaneity that isn't possible if we only stick to a script, employing creativity so your occasion is everything you've dreamed of and more. What I bring which is rare among celebrants is the confidence to improvise — to create the "you had to be there" moments that make a ceremony truly unforgettable.
In the photo I'm playing a kalimba, but I've also been asked to bring flute, shakers, bells, drums and even the kora — the West African harp — into ceremonies, whatever instrument suits the couple and the moment.
I have been facilitating weddings since 2012. One ceremony that has stayed with me took place in the Sussex countryside and began with live music. At my suggestion, the guests gathered in close around the couple to form an intimate circle for their vows — creating a hushed, personal atmosphere for quietly spoken promises. It was a moment to treasure, and one I've never forgotten.
Understanding how much the memories of this day will matter for years to come, I work with every couple to find the right ingredient for a ceremony that is unmistakably theirs.

Since my last wedding, I've learned a huge amount about marriage itself — both from personal experience and from my work with the visionary author Stephen Jenkinson, a man I've interviewed on a number of occasions and whose book on the subject, Matrimony: Ritual, Culture, and the Heart's Work, I contributed to through events I was involved in.
I'm very happy to provide the typical “turn up, read from a script, smile and go” kind of service if that's what suits you. But I can also offer something much deeper and more profound — an approach that can genuinely contribute to the strength, beauty and longevity of a marriage, not just the day itself.
Where couples are open to it, my ideal is to engage with them — and often their families — over a full year leading up to the event, so the ceremony grows out of a relationship rather than a single meeting.
The objective is to create a ceremony where there are no spectators.
